NWSA Mt. Adams Center

The MAC is located in Trout Lake, Washington, a rural town of 700 people situated near Mt. Adams and the southern end of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The nearest larger towns are White Salmon, Washington, and Hood River, Oregon, in the heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

The Mt. Adams Center serves communities throughout Oregon and Washington by placing Members in places such as the Columbia River Gorge, Seattle, Bellingham, Central Washington and Eastern Oregon. The Center partners with approximately 40 agencies including local schools, conservation districts, land conservancies, the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Fish & Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service.

The Mt. Adams Field Team Program is one of only a few AmeriCorps programs to offer housing for its members. During their term, field team members develop a close-knit community that lives and serves together.

Members in our Environmental Internship Program are responsible for finding their own housing and often choose to share housing in or near the community where their projects are located.
